Mario Lemina and Jan Bednarek are not completely ruled out of this weekend’s game, as Mark Hughes confirmed that the pair will both face late fitness tests, according to southamptonfc.com.
Southampton host Man City this weekend at St Mary’s and will need a full-strength squad as the Premier League champions look to reach the 100 point milestone.
Midfielder Lemina missed Southampton’s game at Swansea on Tuesday night with a hamstring strain, while Bednarek had to be substituted after a clash of heads with keeper Alex McCarthy.
There is little pressure on the game, with Premier League safety now all but secured, but Hughes will still want to finish on a high.

Mario we’re still hopeful of getting back, but it’s touch and go. We’ll have to wait on that one. Jan might miss out. Clearly, he had a bang to his head. He’ll need checking nearer the time. Apart from that we’ll have a clean bill of health.
Southampton know that if they can avoid a heavy defeat to Man City, then they’ll be playing Premier League football next season. However, City have the quality to score goals against any side, so Saints will be keen to have their best players fit and firing for the game on Sunday.
