Southampton are understood to be keen on signing David Henen this summer, but fresh reports from Belgium indicate that he could seek a return to his homeland.
Henen sees his contract at Everton expire at the end of the season, and this means that he will be able to move freely in the summer, with the likes of Saints and West Brom keen.
According to a report from Belgian news outlet DH, however, Henen’s preference for his next destination may not be an English club.

It’s claimed that the 22-year-old could elect to turn down a move to another club in the Premier League, or in the Championship, with a transfer to the Belgian Pro League an option. Two top-tier Belgian sides are noted to have already made proposals to the player.
Henen has endured a difficult time at Everton and is understood to have fallen out of favour under manager, Sam Allardyce.
Saints will be keen to bolster their attacking options regardless of which division they’re in next season, but Henen appears to be having second thoughts about remaining in England.
