Southampton Football Club have parted company with first-team manager Mauricio Pellegrino.
The Argentinian was recruited to replace Claude Puel but has since flattered to deceive. Saints have struggled so far this season and have shown no signs of improvement following the 2016/17 campaign.
Pellegrino signed a three-year deal at St Mary’s upon his arrival, which came after he saw out his contract at La Liga underdogs Deportivo Alaves.
Saints are currently sitting in 17th place on the Premier League table and are in serious danger of being relegated
The club will now search high and wide for a successor to Pellegrino following his dismissal as Saints aim to stay in the top flight.
The 3-0 loss to Newcastle United at the weekend was the final straw for the Southampton board, who have acted with Saints having eight league games left in the Premier League season.
Assistant Manager Carlos Compagnucci and Assistant First Team Coach Xavier Tamarit have also left the club.
