Southampton are keen on Atletico Madrid striker Kevin Gameiro, according to the Daily Mail.
It’s stated that the Saints have asked about the Frenchman, whose time at the La Liga club looks to be coming to an end following the eventual arrival of Diego Costa from Chelsea.
Gameiro, 30, has started seven games for Atletico Madrid this season and has come off the bench on five occasions. In this time, he has netted four goals in the league and has also contributed with an assist.

Atletico appear to be keen on retaining Gameiro’s services this month, but it seems a host of Premier League clubs are pondering a swoop for the France international.
The report claims that Swansea have had their opening approach for Gameiro turned down, with Atletico valuing him at a fee of £25m.
Crystal Palace are also cited with interest in the former Sevilla man but it seems an unlikely move, with Gameiro keen to play for a top six side.
