Everton are lining up a £20 million offer for Southampton target Theo Walcott, according to the Mirror.
The Toffees are stated to be keen on signing Walcott, whose Arsenal career appears to be all but over. He has been limited to starts in cup competitions and is evidently out of favour at the club and Saints are looking to bring him to St Mary’s this month.
Southampton want to sign Walcott from Arsenal but it seems Everton are well placed to fend off the south coast outfit, with the Toffees rumoured to be plotting a £20m bid for the England international, which could be enough to lure him away from the Emirates.
The 28-year-old is said to be earning £120,000 per week at Arsenal, which Everton are willing to match this month if the Mirror are to be believed.
Saints have not yet placed an offer for Walcott, according to reports, and although a deal is not yet imminent for the St Mary’s academy graduate, it seems Everton haven stolen a march in the race to sign the experienced winger.
