Southampton will take on Watford at home in the FA Cup fourth round, it has been confirmed.

The Saints gained their passage through to the next round of the illustrious competition at the weekend. Mauricio Pellegrino saw his side come away from Craven Cottage with a 1-0 win away at Championship outfit Fulham. James Ward-Prowse scored the game’s only goal.

Saints exited at this stage last season as they succumbed to a 5-0 home defeat against Arsenal and will hope to go one better this season when they lock horns with The Hornets.

Southampton’s main priority at this stage simply has to be staying in the Premier League, with the club currently situated in 17th place and only above the relegation zone on goal difference.

However, an FA Cup run would certainly be well received by the supporters, who will hope that their side can defeat Watford in the fourth round.
