Championship side Fulham are keen to sign Southampton full-back Matt Targett on loan until the end of the season as they look to push for promotion to the Premier League, according to a report on Sky Sports.
The 22-year-old left-back is currently the third choice in his position behind Ryan Bertrand and Sam McQueen, who has been impressive in the appearances he has made so far this season.
Targett has only appeared twice this season for the Saints and the club are desperate for the youngster to get more game time.
Fulham are offering him just that and believe that he will be a key player for them until the end of the season.
Fulham are at risk of losing their first choice left-back Ryan Sessegnon this month and believe that Targett will be an adequate replacement, even though it would only be temporary.
Targettt suffered an ankle injury earlier in the campaign and made his first appearances for Southampton this season over the busy Christmas period.
Targett is another product of the wonderful Southampton youth system and was crowned the club’s Toung Player of the Year in the 2014/15 season, but injuries have meant that he has failed to get a consistent run in the team.
