Here is how we expect the Saints to line up against Liverpool…
Fraser Forster
Despite his poor form this season, Alex McCarthy has shown nothing to suggest he will be any better.
Cedric Soares
Undisputed first-choice right-back.
Virgil van Dijk
Solid against Burnley. Should keep his place.
Wesley Hoedt
After Yoshida’s mistake against Burnley, Hoedt should slot straight back into the team.
Ryan Bertrand
One of Southampton’s better players against Burnley, easy decision.
Oriol Romeu
With Mario Lemina’s injury, Romeu has no competition for his place.
Steven Davis
The team plays better with Davis in the side, captain consistent.
Nathan Redmond
Looked bright against Burnley and needs to find some form. Scored against Liverpool last season, can he repeat the feat?
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
Southampton need more solidity in midfield and adding Hojbjerg in over Tadic offers that.
Sofiane Boufal
Capable of a moment of magic and works hard for the team. Easy decision.
Charlie Austin
Gabbiadini has been struggling with the lack of service so bringing in Austin allows Saints to hold the ball up and retain possession.
