Southampton consider move for Hand
Southampton are thought to be considering a move for Chesterfield defender Dylan Hand.
According to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, Southampton are one of three clubs paying close attention to his performances this season.
Although he is yet to make his debut in senior football, Hand has been impressing in the youth sides for Chesterfield and is not thought to be far off first-team contention.
The report claims that Southampton, Burnley and Championship side Nottingham Forest are monitoring his progress at present.
O’Rourke also claims that all three sides are considering making an offer for the defender to secure a deal.
Hand has two years left on his current scholarship deal with Chesterfield and is yet to sign his first professional contract with the Football League club.
The Irish defender has been with Chesterfield for a year, after joining from Dundalk in 2016.
Chesterfield are said to be very keen to keep hold of them and are willing to put up a fight.
