Southampton team news: Crystal Palace (A)
Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino has delivered an update on the condition of his squad ahead of their trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Saints will be looking to secure only their second win of the season, and their first victory on the road. Pellegrino’s men have five points from four games, and will be looking to get back to winning ways at Selhurst Park.
However, as quoted by BBC Radio Solent sports editor Adam Blackmore today, Saints could find themselves without Charlie Austin for the clash, with the Englishman doubtful.

Austin has started on the bench in all four of Saints’ Premier League games, but Pellegrino will be hoping to have the former QPR man available for what promises to be an important match for his side.
Regarding Virgil van Dijk, Pellegrino has confirmed that there is a possibility that he will be available for selection on Saturday. The Dutchman has not played a competitive fixture at senior level since mid-January, and could make his first appearance of the season.
As quoted by the Independent, Pellegrino confirmed that a late decision will be taken on Van Dijk’s availability.
Virgil was training well. He played 90 minutes the other day, the reserve game. But tomorrow (Friday) we will decide.
Hopefully he will be getting better every single week but I am happy with that – not just about Virgil because everybody I think is ready to be part of the team.
