Southampton are set to go head to head with Tottenham for the signature of AC Milan youngster Riccardo Tonin.
According to an exclusive report from Italian news outlet TMW today, the two Premier League sides are preparing to battle for the 16-year-old, who has been catching the eye at youth level with Milan.
Tonin is held in extremely high regard in Italy, and has been tipped for big things in the future. Because of this, Milan are likely to be keen on keeping hold of one of their brightest talents.
The young prospect is a striker by trade, but is also claimed to be able to play on either wing in an attacking three.
Tonin has represented Italy at a number of youth levels. He made his international debut for the Under-15 side last year, and has since gone on to play for both the Italian U16 side, along with the U17 side.
