Confirmed – Paulo Gazzaniga joins Tottenham Hotspur
Southampton goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga has sealed a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Argentine shot-stopper joined the Saints back in the summer of 2012, with Nigel Adkins securing his services after an impressive season in League Two with Gillingham.
He went on to feature sporadically over the five years he was with the club, but failed to tie down a regular place in all of Adkins, Mauricio Pochettino and Ronald Koeman’s teams.
Gazzaniga spent the duration of last season on loan at Spanish second tier outfit Rayo Vallecano, where he gained more valuable first-team experience.
Pochettino has now made Gazzaniga his first signing of the summer, in what is an undeniably surprising switch.
The 25-year-old will now act as Spurs’ third choice goalkeeper behind France international Hugo Lloris and Netherlands international Michel Vorm.
