Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi has confirmed that Wesley Hoedt is on his way to Southampton.
It was stated earlier by the club’s sporting director Igli Tare that the deal had been disclosed between the two clubs and now Inzaghi, as quoted by the Lazio Press, has backed up these claims.
The tactician addressed the media after his side’s draw against SPAL this evening, and claimed that Hoedt will “go to Southampton by tomorrow”.
The boy wants to play with more continuity. He just does not have the opportunity here. A dissatisfied player can not stay. By tomorrow he will go to Southampton. He and (Balde) Keita will have to be replaced.

The Netherlands international has been linked with Saints for a long time now and it looks as though the club’s pursuit of the Dutchman will be sealed in the increasingly near future.
Hoedt started his career with AZ Alkmaar and joined Lazio on a free transfer in the summer of 2015. He has since developed in Serie A and has cemented his place in Netherlands’ national squad.
The 23-year-old will now look to impress when he lines up for Saints in the Premier League.
