Southampton midfield Dusan Tadic has lamented his side’s missed chances in their 0-0 draw with Swansea.
The Saints were dominant in the opening Premier League fixture of the season but were unable to find a way past Fabianski, due to some poor finishing.
Of Southampton’s 29 shots in the game, only two were on target – a poor percentage.
Speaking to Southampton’s website, Tadic said this:
We expect to win this game and when you watch everything I think we deserved to score goals but we missed a lot of chances.
If you score an open goal, it would have been easier and it is a totally different game.
But we need to keep going and the next game is against West Ham, where we will try to win.
There is a lot of positive things, we just missed scoring a goal from our chances.
The biggest chance of the game, arguably, fell to Tadic. The Serbian was six-yards out from goal when Ryan Bertrand cut the ball back and he somehow sent his shot wide when it looked easier to score.
Tadic did also come closest to scoring for the Saints. His long-range effort in the second half was heading for the top corner before Fabianski made an excellent save to preserve a clean sheet for his side.
Southampton have now gone six Premier League matches without scoring a goal at St.Mary’s.
