According to Senego, via Sport Witness, Southampton failed in an attempt to sign Noah Fadiga from Club Brugge earlier this year.
The report claims that Southampton were interested in bringing him to England last season before he signed his first professional contract with Club Brugge.
Fadiga put pen to paper on his first senior deal recently, opting against a move to England.
Instead, Fadiga committed his immediate future to Club Brugge and is set to work his way into the first-team set-up next season.
Fadiga also recently signed a contract with Nike to become one of their clients.
The talented midfielder is the son of former Bolton and Coventry midfielder Khalilou Fadiga.
