Southampton reportedly monitoring Karamoh situation
Southampton look set to miss out on the signing of Caen youngster Yann Karamoh, but are claimed to be monitoring the situation of his move to Saint-Etienne.
It’s looking as though the young Frenchman will secure a move to Oscar Garcia’s side for a lowly fee of around €8m, with Saint-Etienne poised to beat the likes of Saints, Everton and Fiorentina to his signature.
However, according to the printed edition of French news outlet L’Equipe (h/t Sport Witness), Saints and Everton are both still keeping tabs on Karamoh.
The winger, who can also play as a striker, enjoyed a successful breakthrough season with the Ligue 1 outfit. He managed to notch a total of four goals, and also contributed with five assists.
Saints have been linked with a move for Karamoh for a little while now, and they’d certainly be well placed to better Saint-Etienne’s proposed €8m move for the player if they are desperate to sign the 19-year-old.
