Southampton are joined by Leicester in their interest in Chelsea defender Nathan Ake, according to Sky Sports, but Bournemouth are leading the race.
The Dutchman has been linked with a move to Saints for a little while now, but it appears as though the interest on the club’s part is genuine, with Sky Sports now reaffirming that the South Coast outfit are keen to land the defender.
Ake enjoyed a hugely successful first half of the season with Bournemouth last term, impressing to the extent that Chelsea recalled him from his loan.
However, the Blues failed to really utilise him and this has led to speculation surrounding his future at the club.
Ake made his debut for the Netherlands’ senior team only this month, and undoubtedly has a big future ahead of him.
Saints’ interest in the young central defender is clearly genuine, but Bournemouth and Leicester are sure to give them a tough time in their pursuit of the Chelsea man.
Ake is valued at around £20m by the Blues.
