Southampton are claimed to have expressed an interest in Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney.
According to a report from the Northern Echo, the South Coast side are considering a move for the Fulham man after his superb season under Slavisa Jokanovic in the Championship.
Cairney has emerged as one of the best midfielders in the league and has subsequently attracted a lot of interest from some top flight clubs, with Saints the latest to be linked.
The report claims that West Ham and Newcastle are also considering a move for the central midfielder, who Fulham reportedly expect to lose this summer after failing to seal promotion to the Premier League.
From the middle of the park, the 26-year-old has notched a quite impressive 12 goals throughout the course of the season, and has also chipped in with a total of 11 assists.
Cairney is a key player for Fulham and they will not want to lose him cheaply.
