Southampton are ready to dismiss manager Claude Puel at the end of the season, according to a report tonight from the Daily Mail.
The Frenchman has been at the forefront of plenty of speculation in the last month, with uncertainty building regarding his long-term future on the South Coast.
However, it now looks as though he is set to be relieved of his duties at the end of the season, with the report suggesting that he has fallen out with several first team players at the club.
It’s claimed that plenty of the squad are unhappy with Puel’s rotation policy, which has led to clashes behind the scenes.
Puel has led Saints to eighth in the league and with just one game remaining, it’s the highest he can possibly take them this season.
He also led the club to an EFL Cup final back in February, but Saints lost out to Manchester United in the dying moments.
However, he’s been unsuccessful at appeasing the fans and his failure to compete in the Europa League has been a big part of his divided relationship with the St Mary’s faithful.
