Southampton have reportedly met Nigerian youngster Henry Onyekuru ahead of a potential summer move.
According to an exclusive report from Own Goal Nigeria, the Saints have sent representatives to meet the player himself, who has been catching the eye of many this season with a series of impressive performances for Eupen out in Belgium.
Although it’s only Onyekuru’s first proper season as a senior player, he’s transitioned seamlessly from the youth team into the first-team and has netted a highly commendable 19 goals in just 37 games.
The 19-year-old is also claimed by the report to have met up with Everton’s representatives too, with the Toffees also keen to bring the Eupen forward to the Premier League this summer.
It’s claimed in the report that Eupen are demanding a ‘package close to €15 million’, which is certainly a hefty fee for a player so young.
However, the report does also state that this would be made up of add-ons and additional fees, as opposed to an outright transfer fee.
