Southampton’s Premier League season is almost at its conclusion, with seven matches left to play.
The Saints currently occupy ninth place, but have a good chance of overtaking eight-placed West Brom, with two games in hand over the Baggies.
It has been a tough season for Southampton, with Europa League football to contend with and a new manager in Claude Puel. However, they look set for a top-ten finish and made it to the final of the EFL Cup, albeit losing 3-2 to Manchester United.
There are certainly plenty of areas in which Southampton should look to strengthen ahead of next season to push back into Europe.
Fans have been crying out for a central defender, after Jose Fonte was sold in January, and even more so now that speculation over Virgil van Dijk’s future has increased.
So, I’ve had my say on who Saints should consider signing when the summer transfer window opens at the start of July…
