Virgil van Dijk is probably the most sought-after player in world football at the moment, and Arsenal have reportedly joined the chase to sign him this summer.
According to a report from the Mirror this evening, the Gunners are looking to revamp their defensive options at the end of the season and have identified van Dijk as the main man to revitalise them ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
The Saints team captain has been out of action since mid-January after damaging his ankle ligaments, but could make a return before the end of the season.
Saints have reportedly slapped a huge £50 million price tag on the Netherlands international; a fee that would equal the world-record sum for a defender.
The report does state, however, that Chelsea remain in the driving seat regarding a potential summer move for van Dijk, with the likes of Everton, Liverpool and Manchester City all considering bids for the powerful defender.
