Southampton captain Jose Fonte is set to complete his move to West Ham in the next 24 hours.
The Evening Standard have reported that The Hammers are looking to conclude talks with Saints and Fonte himself over a move worth up to £10 million; with an initial fee of £8 million along with a potential £2 million in add-ons.
Fonte’s situation at St Mary’s has become somewhat toxic, with the Portugal international handing in a formal transfer request at the club for this month’s window, and it looks as though he is finally set to get his move away from the south coast.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic was coy over his side’s dealings in the window, but did hint that Fonte would be on his way very shortly.
I like what Arsene Wenger says, ‘we are not talking about transfers, we are working on transfers’, so I am not talking about names.
All I can say, though, is that we hope to settle something in the next 24 hours.
West Ham’s defence this season has been considerably poor, so Bilic will be hoping that the addition of Fonte can bolster his side ahead of the remainder of the ongoing season.
