Hull and West Ham eyeing Martina
West Ham and Hull City are both reportedly interested in making a move for Southampton right-back Cuco Martina this month.
The Curacao international’s contract with Saints comes to an end in June and he will then be available to move on elsewhere for a free transfer.
However, if Saints do want to recoup some of the £1 million fee they paid FC Twente for his services back in the summer of 2015, they could be tempted to sell him this month.
According to ESPN, two potential destinations for the right-back come in the form of the struggling West Ham and Hull.
Martina is playing second fiddle to Cedric Soares this season and it’s highly likely that he would have been sold if Jeremy Pied had not picked up a long-term injury early on in the campaign.
However, Claude Puel could see the emergence of Jack Stephens as sufficient backup at right-back and look to offload Martina this month.
