It’s sure to be a big night at St Mary’s Stadium this evening as Southampton welcome Hapoel Be’er Sheva in their final Europa League group stage game.

Sparta Prague have finished comfortably at the top of Group K, whilst Inter Milan left a lot to be desired in their campaign and have subsequently finished rock bottom of the group.

However, Saints sit in second place and Hapoel sit in third, with plenty on the line tonight.

A win would ensure qualification into the round of 32 for Saints and so would a 0-0 draw. However, down to the head to head record, if Hapoel are to score and draw or of course win, they’ll be heading through instead.

Saints will be without backup duo Matt Targett and Alex McCarthy for the game, but Claude Puel is likely to have Dusan Tadic back and fit and at his disposal.

Hapoel are sure to put up a big fight, though. They’ve scored a quite staggering 29 goals in their last eight matches and have conceded just two in the process. Although this is in the Israeli League and the standard is significantly lower, it’s a record that promises a tough test for Claude Puel’s men.

It’s got all the makings of a huge game tonight and it’s imperative to Saints’ season and progression that they make the most of it and progress through.
