According to an exclusive report from The Express this evening, Southampton are lining up an audacious loan move for Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.
The England international has fallen out of favour with The Reds this season, as German manager Jurgen Klopp has opted to utilise attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino as his leading man up front for the majority of the Premier League campaign so far.
This has led to plenty of speculation surrounding Sturridge’s future and it now looks as though Saints are intending to make their move for then England forward this January.

Saints have lacked cutting edge for the opening 12 games of the season, with Sturridge’s fellow English striker Charlie Austin being the main source of goals for Claude Puel’s men.
The report states that the deal would be with the view of a summer move worth £25 million; a price that would smash Saints’ record transfer deal if they are to pursue the move.
