Southampton are in talks over a £200m takeover from Lander Sports Development Co, according to Bloomberg Markets.
The report says that Saints owner Katharina Liebherr has been in negotiations with the consortium for a number of weeks now as she mulls over the sale. However, a deal has yet to be completed.
The sale, if it goes through, could be worth as much as £200m ($246.2m).
This comes after a surge of recent investments from Chinese companies in English football. West Brom, Wolves, Birmingham and Aston Villa have all had Chinese investors come in and take over in recent months.
Southampton now look as though they could follow suit if the deal does progress and go through.
Ultimately though, it is Liebherr’s decision to make.
Southampton and Lander have both declined to comment on the issue at this point.
More information is sure to follow in the coming weeks if talks do progress.
