Boufal decides to join Southampton
According to Le10Sport, Sofiane Boufal has decided to join Southampton ahead of two other Premier League sides.
The report says that Southampton are closing in on the signing of Boufal for €17m, plus add-ons. It also says that Boufal rejected Leicester and Watford to concentrate on a move to Southampton.
This would be a fee that would exceed Saints’ record transfer fee and it’s arguable that the move would come with some risk given the fact that Boufal is quite a raw talent and is currently nursing an injury, due to surgery that was undergone for a meniscus tear.
However, Boufal is recovering and is set to be back next month. This means that Southampton fans will have to wait to see the potential record-signing in action for the club.
He is now expected to join Southampton before the end of the week, with an announcement even possible for today.
