Wanyama completes Spurs medical
According to a recent report from the International Business Times, Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama has successfully completed his medical ahead of a move to Tottenham.
The Kenya captain has been touted for a move away from St Mary’s for a long time now and it looks as though the powerful midfielder is finally set to get his wish with a move to White Hart Lane ahead of next season.
Whilst the fee for Wanyama’s move is still relatively unclear, with Sky Sports quoting the price to be between £11 million to £12 million, Saints are said to be hopeful of recouping the £12 million fee that they paid Scottish club Celtic in 2013 for his services.
Ahead of his move to Spurs, Wanyama has praised the Southampton fans in an interview with soka25east.com and has thanked them for their unconditional support during the three seasons in which he played for the club.
I am indeed elated at passing my medical at Tottenham, it is a new dawn in my career and I believe I will give my best for my new team.
I want to thank Southampton management and fans for the exceptional time we had together, I will always have a fond place for them in my heart.
Wanyama has played 80 times for Saints during his tenure on the south coast.
