Former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen on taking the Southampton job, according to the Daily Echo.
The Daily Echo understand that Pellegrini is to be interviewed by Southampton for the position and that he is eager to make his mark and land the job. Pellegrini wants to stay in England and Southampton in the best job he could possibly take at present.

Manuel Pellegrini has left Manchester City this summer, with Pep Guardiola set to take over at City next month. This means that he is a ‘free agent’, which makes things slightly less complicated for Southampton in their pursuit of him, as they would not have to pay compensation.
Pellegrini would also come with a big reputation, having achieved success at Real Madrid, Villarreal, Malaga and Manchester City. This means that his appointment would be well received by Saints fans, who would now have a manager who is used to winning trophies.
