According to L’Equipe, via Sport Witness, former Roma manager Rudi Garcia has rejected the chance to come and manager Southampton next season.
Southampton are currently without a manager following Ronald Koeman’s exit. The Dutchman joined Everton earlier this week, just weeks after saying that he would stay with Southampton.

This has left Southampton with the task of appointing a new manager ahead of the upcoming season. However, they have now been dealt another blow in their race as Garcia rejects the job.
The report says that Southampton officials met with Garcia in Paris recently, but after the talks he decided not to take the job. It is thought that he had a disagreement over transfers and not being able to appoint his own backroom staff.
Garcia was told that he was only allowed to bring in two of his own backroom staff, which he was very unhappy with. He also disagreed with the way transfers were made, as he wanted full control over dealings. This could be related to the potential signing of Nathan Redmond.
Manuel Pellegrini and Claude Puel are still thought to be in the running.
