In a recent interview, Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has admitted that the lure of returning to Barcelona in a management role could persuade him to move there if an offer was to come about, the Daily Echo can report.
Koeman spent a hugely successful six years at Barcelona, helping them to European titles and to dominate Spain, making an incredible 192 appearances for the Catalan giants. The Dutchman also scored a hugely impressive 67 goals for Barca from the back.
I like (the prospect of a return) because if I go and if I come back to Barcelona it’s feeling back at home and we have a fantastic understanding.
We had a great time together in Barcelona and if one day I get the possibility of course I’d like to go back.
Koeman still has one more season left on his current three-year deal with the Saints, but admitted that along with Barcelona being a lucrative prospect, he has not yet shut the door on managing his native Netherlands side.
It’s possible because it’s still one of my ambitions.

Perceived as a Dutch legend of football, it would come as no surprise to see the Netherlands look to capture their former centre-back as a manager, given his credentials at clubs such as Southampton and what he has achieved, showing that he can indeed manage at the top level.
It’s nice if you get the chance to be the national coach but I’m happy now at Southampton and we’ll see what happens in the future.
Although Koeman hasn’t denied a move away from Saints for either Barca or Holland, it isn’t a cause for concern as it doesn’t look likely that he will leave just yet.
