According to the printed edition of L’Equipe, Southampton are keeping a close eye on Lille star Sofiane Boufal.
Southampton have been linked along with Stoke, Tottenham, Manchester CIty, Arsenal and Inter Milan. This means that a move to the South Coast looks very unlikely, however, still plausible given the money that will be injected into the Premier League from the start of next season.
If Southampton are to have another top-eight finish this season then it would be of no surprise to see the club splash the cash in the summer. Boufal has been impressing for Lille this season and the 22-year-old could be a fine addition to the Premier League.
Since signing for Lille in January 1015, Boufal has played 32 games for the club in Ligue 1 and scored nine goals from an attacking midfield position; a position that Ronald Koeman may look to strengthen with the imminent departure of Gaston Ramirez and the failings of Juanmi.
Lille are looking for 20m Euros for the attacker and are willing to sell him in the summer for this price.
